New to astrology? Read on and ignore the technical bits. There's plenty here for you too! Why don’t I write horoscopes for each sign?

The events of September most affect the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), the
mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces), and Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn).
September 1–4
We are in the heart of the Golden Triangle, the Grand Trine in Earth involving Sun, Venus,
Jupiter, and Pluto. The highlight of this is on the 2nd, as the Sun trines Jupiter to complete its role
in igniting this energy, with us continuously since August 23, but stronger from August 28. It’s
time to plant seeds for the future, even as we harvest the fruits of those planted in late December.
The 1st and 2nd bring harmonious support from the Moon in Scorpio, enhancing actions in all
endeavors, but particularly in relationships, as Venus moves toward its sextile to Mars. Saturday
the 3rd reintroduces the areas of unfolding clarity that we’ve been working with since late July.
The third of three contacts between Mercury and Neptune is touched off early by the Moon,
highlighting what we’ve learned, a retrospective on August’s events. Our way forward is more
evident now. The First Quarter Moon on the 4th marks a week when we will revisit the Solar
Eclipse of June 1. Think back to what you experienced in June and see if the themes of that time
don’t come up now.
September 5–8
Events on Labor Day (the 5th) gloss over the big issues, and unless we want to look deeper, the
day passes as a continuation of previous processes. The remainder of the week brings a
blossoming of possibilities, as the Golden Triangle comes to the surface of our experience again.
The Moon in Capricorn underscores the process all day on the 6th and 7th. We should view the
obstacles that arise as instructive rather than obstructive. Agreements are possible on these days
as well, as the Moon brings Venus and Mars together in anticipation of their connection on
Saturday the 10th.
The 8th ties the loose ends together — for now — on our Mercury-Neptune process. We have
gained what we need to know from the perspective they offer, and we find our path better defined
than it was in mid July. What has changed for you since then?
At 10:59 pm on the 8th, Mercury re-enters Virgo, where it was July 28–August 7. This period
presented a crisis in clarity versus confusion; now clarity (the direction of all energy) wins out.
Not only is Mercury strong in Virgo (the sign of its rulership and its exaltation), it brings back to
us the Golden Triangle but from a more intellectual viewpoint. Its energy is available to us the 8th – 17th.
September 9–12
The 9th gives us a day to integrate, as Moon in Aquarius trines Saturn. The Full Moon energies
tug at us a little until Moon enters Pisces at midday on the 10th. Venus also, finally, reaches Mars
in a sextile that grounds our emotions into a form we can use. What we want and have been
creating has a new chance to enter the visible world today. Let it flow into your life!
This creates the perfect segue into the Full Moon, which comes at 2:27 am PT on the 12th, but not
before a doorway to powerful communication opens on the 11th. Although we may not have all
the answers yet, this week does much to brig light into shrouded areas. The Full Moon signals the
halfway point between the eclipses of June and those coming in November-December, extending
our tendency to experience events in terms of the themes established in June (and last December,
to a certain extent). This is a time when we may reverse decisions or change course in ways that
we’ve thought about quite thoroughly. This is because we have a completely different
perspective on things than we had in June — perhaps quite the opposite! This is how Gemini-Sagittarius work to bring us into alignment with our own inner truth and harmony. Peace is the
result.
September 13–16
The energies this week become more strident as the planets begin to foreground the Cardinal
Grand Cross again. This starts with the Moon in Aries on the 13th – 14th, but it is augmented by
Venus entering Libra at 7:40 pm on the 14th as well. The strident energies we experienced in
April and July are back for a revisitations, this time from the perspective of Libra. Unresolved
issues from December-January, April, and late June surface now for final release, as Pluto also
returns to forward motion (Stationary Direct) on the 16th. Although some issues are too big to
resolve now, we are drawn to take whatever steps we can to replace tension with peace and
harmony. It requires courage and strength, but it can be done if we are willing to take the risk.
September 17–22
The transformation continues on the 17th with Venus’s opposition to Uranus intensifying our
urge to transform. We can’t take it anymore — we must be freed of entanglements. It can flow
more easily than we think, on the wave of confidence that comes of the Moon’s trine to the Sun
from Taurus. Outcomes will be good, even though perhaps not immediately available to us.
On the 18th, the other shoe drops in this situation, as Venus squares Pluto. There’s a deeper story
to our story now, the saga of our life told in finance and relationship since August 21 a year ago.
This will further but not finalize these matters in our lives. Look beneath the surface for the truth.
Appearances are at least partially misleading now. At 6:51 pm, Mars enters Leo, reducing our
tendency toward emotional reaction and increasing our creative energy. Our passions will remain
high, but if we focus our energies in the heart we will use this energy at its very best. What does
your heart say?
Even if head and heart want to move in different directions on the 19th, we know what to do
about it. Peace is available to us, although we may prefer to be agitated. The desire for drama
may be hard to shake as the story that began to unfold last week continues to play out. The Moon
moves through Cancer to reactivate the Cardinal Grand Cross on the 20th – 21st. The 22nd brings
accord between head and heart. What you feel certain about today, you can act on with
confidence.
September 23–30
At 2:05 am PT on the 23rd, the Sun enters Libra, the Autumnal Equinox and Mabon Festival,
when day and night are equal in both hemispheres. This starts a new round of events to echo and
create development in the situations opened by Venus since the 14th. The Golden Triangle (Earth
Grand Trine) has dissipated in our focus but not importance. Since August 24, we’ve been
developing the foundation for new structures in our lives. We have the next six months to bring
them into full being in the world. Don’t forget to keep pressing forward on these projects,
sensitive to shifts in direction under guidance from your inner voice.
Now (the 22nd – 23rd) Mars harmonizes with Uranus, lending inspiration and flow to our efforts
to change. We ride a wave carried on the flames of joy, in contrast with events on August 9
(Mars’s square to Uranus). The tenor of events is more significant, and we are prodded to take
action to make something happen. Actions taken now will flow smoothly, but we should be
prepared for unexpected results. Exciting!
On one level, the 24th and 25th are integration days in the dark of the Moon and the ending lunar
cycle begun on August 28. On the front burner though, we feel the punch of recent events and the
build-up of intensity as the Sun opposes Uranus late on the 25th. Mercury underscores this when
it enters Libra at 2:09 pm. It immediately greets Uranus to bring shocking new awareness giving
us a possible interpretation of what has been occurring. These energies feed and flow into the
New Moon, through which a truer understanding of what’s really going on will emerge gradually
over the coming lunar month, even though events will appear more abruptly on our horizon.
At 4:09 am PT on the 27th, the New Moon renews life at 4°00' Libra. This takes us on a journey
back in time to the events of late June and August 2010. Events tied to these dates reach a new
plateau during the coming month. Although nothing is ever complete until we decide it is, there
is a notable sense of resolution that emerges.
The 28th gives us much to work with on this score, as Sun and Mercury conjoin as they square
Pluto, the event that puts us into integration and finalization mode with the yearly cycle of
transformation begun last December 26. Our new understanding of what’s really going on under
the surface is profound. As Mercury sextiles Mars on the 29th, the third of three contacts (July 11,
August 4), now we know what to do and can do it. With these events and the conjunction of
Venus to Saturn, commitment is in the air. The 30th is a day of integration, a lull in energies as
we await the next wave.
