Saturn entered Scorpio on October 5, giving us a new mission for the next three years. If you don’t already have it, get “The Things We Do for Love: Your Guide to Saturn in Scorpio 2012-15”.
In recent weeks — it’s hard to say when it started exactly — we’ve been emptying. We’ve been letting go of the past as we understand what is true and real, not a cherished image or fantasy that is perhaps yet to come. Over the past week, we’ve had to do something even harder than that: We’ve had to stay empty.
We’ve had to hold our empty space, a void, while the universe does a cleanse, signaled by our first eclipse in Scorpio-Taurus and by a concurrent Mercury retrograde invoking the same process. Although the eclipse came on Tuesday November 13, our time of being in the void was extended by Mercury until Saturday (Nov 17), when the New Mercury cycle started. Now we can begin to fill again. Your new life starts now!
This is true, even though Mercury is still retrograde. The word on the street is to avoid acting during Mercury’s retrograde, but those in the know understand that once the cycle is renewed, we can begin our new initiatives.
Mercury’s cycle lasts 3.5 months, during which time Gaia’s new Great Year will begin Dec 21. In this time of Great new beginnings, what might that be like for you? Check your Sun, Moon, and rising sign below.
It’s hard to accept how low your finances have gotten, but it’s never too late to turn over a new leaf — and in this case it’s the perfect time. Not only is it time to think out of the box, it’s time to throw the box away and do something daring. Shoot for the moon! Your first steps on this new path may involve a detour, one you’re already embarked on, but it will all turn out well in the end. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
Relationships are in your face right now, along with the distasteful process of casting aside those that create decay in your life, as well as admitting that some of those ties are really beneficial even if they are painful. Just as challenging is having to stick around to complete the ones you no longer want in your life. This is a longer-term process than you think, and you’ll have to call upon the depths of your patience to get through, but that’s what strength is made of, right? Organization is more important than you would like to think. Where in the past, you’ve let it slide — someone else can take care of it; as long as I can find my keys I’m okay — now an honest look shows you that it’s holding you back. Time to get your ducks in a row in every way possible: paperwork, connectivity, focus on goals, daily routines. This contributes more to your health than you think. In the midst of all the sturm und drang, it helps to have a distraction, and you can find that in play. It’s time to give yourself a break from the drama in your relationships and the disruption in your public life and career. You need to pour out all that emotion that’s been storing up. Whether it’s sports, personal athletics, performance, creative pursuits, or romance — this is your time to let it all go. You don’t have to share the deets with anyone else. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
It feels like you’re trying to walk through molasses in January. Just when you’d like to fly high, your private life beckons and sucks you into the void of unfinished business that lies there. Cleaning up the home and emotions is a thankless task, but you’ll be thanking yourself when you’re done with it because it’s the foundation you need to move forward without all those old unfinished situations holding you down. You’re used to them now, but once they’re gone you’ll wonder how you ever managed before. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
You need to generate more activity — or is it more fruitful activity? Whether you have lots of busy work or you’ve stripped your life down to a simple pattern, activity is the name of the game. You are acutely aware that your time and energy are your most precious resources, and it’s time to stop “spending” them on pursuits that lead nowhere. It’s time to get serious, get efficient, and get more money rolling in for the effort you expend. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
You’re down to the bare minimum. You’ve been stripped to what you really need, and it’s a comfort not to have to put so much effort into things and people that weren’t giving back. It was painful to turn the corner, but you did it! Or you’re doing it. So don’t get sucked back into old patterns, or forms of security that undermine your overall goals. Now’s the time to cast out the old ways of spending your time, energy, and money, just in time for the holidays. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
The cleanse is on! It may not seem like it, but your time has come. Suddenly the things you’ve wanted are coming at you like a bullet train, and you’re not sure whether you’re a passenger or just standing in its way. It’s time to enlist the support of others, both to see what’s really happening and to make those important decisions that are coming up rapid-fire. Turn the big steps into baby steps, and voila! You’ll arrive. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
Although all of humanity sleeps more in the dark days of winter, you’re finding that the areas of greatest growth lie within. It’s time for a retreat to reconnoiter all that has gone before — for the last 17 years at least. Your gift for moving on has left a few dark pockets that need to be cleared and healed. Whether you travel, go on a spiritual retreat, spend more time alone, or an illness pulls you back, it’s your time to heal. Don’t expect a quick fix, but do expect to feel more of the Divine as you do the work. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
It’s time to take back control of your life, even if it means spending all your time alone. You’re done being at others’ beck and call. Offer your excuses — whatever it takes to get back to your personal Zero Point. Then look at your social arena and see who lights up for you and who shows up to be supportive instead of just supported. You’ll know who they are if you follow your instinctuitions. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
Your knee-jerk reaction is to leave when you feel controlled, but hold on a minute. Your overall goals may be at stake if you do. Yes, there’s no doubt that someone is holding it over you, that you’re being misunderstood, even that your reputation is at stake. The surest way of making others think that there’s something to the rumors is to run away. Stand your ground, and you’ll find a different kind of independence in not getting caught in others’ mental traps. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
Are you road-worthy? If not, it’s time to get ready. You are about to change your whys, ways, and means of travel. If you’ve been mobile, you may stay home more; if you’ve been going by car, air travel may become more frequent. Most importantly though, you have good reasons now to travel, even if it’s travel of the mind on your latest quest for truth or a new college degree. Clearly it’s time to shed your shrinking violet image and let people know what you’ve been up to. It will benefit everyone. To learn more about your new cycle, get the Mercury guide.
